Kevin Durant has yet to play a single minute of basketball with the Brooklyn Nets but it's pretty clear that he already has strong leverage in the franchise. That's not necessarily something bad and it happens everywhere, we're just stating a fact.

It's been rumored that Durant and Kyrie Irving weren't fond of Kenny Atkinson and that's one of the reasons why the Nets fired him. It's also been said that they approved Steve Nash's appointment as their new coach.

Now, however, it seems like Durant's influence at Brooklyn has taken a whole new dimension, as the leaked pictures of their new City Edition jerseys show that its design was inspired by the late Jean-Michel Basquiat, his favorite artist.

Once again, that shouldn't be something strange as Basquiat was based in New York for the majority of his career. Nevertheless, the jersey design drew a lot of mixed reviews on social media, and some of them were pretty harsh.

Twitter Reacts To Brooklyn Nets' Leaked Jersey

The Nets already honored city legend Notorious B.I.G with their previous City Edition jerseys so it's not surprising to see them paying tribute to another late NYC legend as Jean-Michel Basquiat.

You may like the alleged jersey or not. Everything's valid. Then again, you can't deny that it's going to be a collector's item and that the Nets will definitely rock them with their astonishing and revolutionizing court designs.

Also, you can expect this jersey to be a massive sales success as soon as the Brooklyn Nets start winning games with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant leading the way. There will be no empty seats at the Barclays Center, that's for sure.

Brooklyn are one of the biggest favorites to go the distance and win the NBA Championship next season, assuming Durant is able to come back from his injury at his usual level, which is easier said than done.
