Russell Westbrook is set to start a new chapter in his career with the Washington Wizards after being traded to D.C. in exchange for John Wall. Brodie only spent one season in Houston with his good friend James Harden but things didn’t end so well for him.
Westbrook is now part of a new organization, with fresh expectations and a group of players that can do a good job if properly mentored. The 2017 NBA MVP already moved on from his time in Houston but details about his tenure in H-Town are still surfacing.
One of Westbrook’s close friends has made some big revelations about his friend’s time in Houston and how bad he felt while he was in Texas. Russ was the soul of the Oklahoma City Thunder and that changed when he landed in Houston.
Russell Westbrook’s close friend makes bold revelation on Russ’ time in Houston
Longtime friend Donnell Beverly recently talked with the Washington Times, claiming that Westbrook was never happy in Houston. Now that he’s playing under Scott Brooks again, the point guard must feel better than he ever felt in Houston.
“We were looking at the second act of Russell’s career; what’s going to make him happy? What’s important?”
“Really, it’s just being at peace. I don’t think that’s where he’s been the last few years. I don’t think he’s been at peace.”
Teaming up with Bradley Beal in Washington will give Russ a fresh start, even though not many people believe the Wizards have a real shot at competing in the Eastern Conference. Brodie has always liked challenges and perhaps having little expectations will help him and his team in a season with a lot of competition around the league.
