After their recent loss to the Denver Nuggets, the Golden State Warriors bounced back with two straight wins. The quick turnaround highlights the resilience of Steve Kerr’s squad. These victories moved the Warriors into sixth place in the Western Conference. However, there was concern as Stephen Curry played only 25 minutes before leaving the game. Following the win, Jimmy Butler offered a brief analysis of what Curry’s absence could mean for the team in the coming games.

“I think the message is going to be, whether he’s with us or whether he’s not, hopefully, he is, but if he isn’t, that’s just more perfect basketball that we’re gonna have to play
We can’t afford to turn the ball over. We can’t afford to foul because we don’t have the one individual that can automatically get us back into the game. But we want the guy. We want our guy with us,” stated Jimmy Butler as reported by Anthony Slater.

The Warriors are far from guaranteed a spot in the NBA playoffs, with the Los Angeles Clippers close behind. A rough losing streak could drop them out of the direct playoff picture. On top of that, any absence from Stephen Curry would force Golden State to adjust its playing style. Even so, Draymond Green has stepped up. He has proven he can lead not only the defense but also take charge of the offense when needed.

Jimmy Butler’s arrival has provided Steve Kerr with more options, especially when it comes to versatility. His presence allows Kerr to utilize players like Draymond Green more effectively, as Butler’s defensive skills and ability to organize the lineup offer greater flexibility. Against the Toronto Raptors, Green delivered an impressive performance with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals.

This does not mean the Warriors can afford to be without Stephen Curry without consequences. The NBA superstar leads the team in scoring with 24.2 points per game. Beyond the numbers, Curry’s impact extends to his ability to read the game. His basketball IQ is crucial in creating space for his teammates and shaping the Warriors’ offensive flow.
