Shocking news have been reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN. It was pretty much guaranteed that Jeremiyah Love was going to be taken by the Tennessee Titans at fourth, but now, the NFL insider has reported that the running back’s watch starts at the fifth position. This is shocking news for the New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs were so sure that Love wasn’t going to be available, that they signed Kenneth Walker III to a very lucrative contract. Now, they could actually have the chance to get their pick.
That is if the Giants let him go. New York has three good-to-very-good running backs in Cam Skattebo, Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy Jr. Still, Singletary and Tracy are not trusted with the full load of a backfield. Skattebo, which was a home run, suffered a woeful injury to his ankle.
Why are the Titans passing on Love?
A few weeks ago, Love even paid a visit to the Titans. It was pretty much a sure thing. With the latest reports, it means that the Titans are more than happy to keep Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. Or, the team saw something in Love that they didn’t like.

Tony Pollard #20 of the Tennessee Titans
Pollard had 1,288 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns last season, both team’s best. As for Spears, he was third on the team in scrimmage yards with 547, alongside two touchdowns. Maybe the Titans figured out they have more issues than their current running game.

If Chiefs and Giants pass on Love, then what?
Every year, there is a highly-touted prospect that gets relegated in the NFL Draft for some reason. What if that’s Love? The Raiders, Jets, and Cardinals have the first three picks, and they won’t use it on Love.
Browns (6th), Commanders (7th), Saints (8th), Bengals (10th), Dolphins (11th), Cowboys (12th), Rams (13th), Ravens (14th), Buccaneers (15th), and Lions (17th) all have their running game sorted out. Love could fall back to 18th in Minnesota or worse. Love is in serious jeopardy to actually fall far.
