The Indianapolis Colts have received a significant boost ahead of their Week 12 showdown against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Quarterback Daniel Jones has been dealing with an injury, yet he is set to play in a key match for his club.
Jones has been working his way back from a lingering fibula issue, and his potential return would be a major lift for an Indianapolis offense. The club unveiled on Friday’s injury report that the quarterback was a full participant, which means he is set to play this weekend.
This would definitely give Indianapolis a better chance of keeping pace with a high-powered Chiefs offense led by Mahomes — especially as Kansas City looks to rebound from an up-and-down stretch this season.
If Jones gets injured, the Colts are in serious trouble
Daniel Jones’ injury scare has undoubtedly raised alarms for the Colts. Even though he was listed as a full participant in Friday’s practice, Indianapolis needs him to stay healthy if the team hopes to remain a true contender in the AFC.
Earlier this year, the Colts placed Anthony Richardson on injured reserve as he recovers from an orbital fracture. While recent reports suggest that the young quarterback could return soon, he remains unavailable for now.
With Richardson still on IR, the Colts have only Riley Leonard backing up Jones on the active roster. The rookie, taken in the sixth round this year, is on the team for a reason — but he’s not the quarterback Indianapolis wants to rely on while carrying legitimate contender expectations.
