The quarterback position has brought countless problems for the Houston Texans over the last few months. In a shocking turn of events, rookie QB Davis Mills will be at the helm of the offense for the upcoming 2021 NFL fixtures.

First, the various civil lawsuits against Deshaun Watson for alleged sexual assault and misconduct have kept him inactive for this season while he also requested a trade earlier this year. Sadly, the Texans couldn't catch a breath with Tyrod Taylor getting injured just at the beginning of the campaign.

In the 31-21 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 2 Taylor walked to halftime with a hamstring injury that prevented him from returning to the field. That's when Davis Mills took over and completed the game to make his NFL debut. With Taylor placed on injured reserve, Mills is set to be behind center for many more weeks.

What High School did Davis Mills attend?

Davis Mills attended Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, Georgia, and he emerged as one of the most promising players of his class. Those high school years have been the best in his football career so far.

Mills was ranked as the top quarterback in the high school 2017 class, to which the likes of Miami Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa and the New England Patriots' Mac Jones also belonged. Before his senior year, however, Mills suffered a knee injury that would be the first of many more to come, as he got hurt again in the championship game.

What college did Davis Mills go to?

Following his fantastic high school performances, a number of programs were interested in him but Davis Mills eventually choose Stanford University to begin his college football journey.

After redshirting his freshman year, Mills had to wait to have snaps regularly as he only appeared once in 2018 taking over KJ Costello, whom he would back up for the following season as well.

However, Costello's injury created room for Mills to start six of eight games despite he injured his knee again. In that span, he set a school record by throwing 504 yards and three touchdowns against Washington State.  In his last college season before entering the NFL Draft, Mills played just five games in a season shortened by the pandemic.
