One of the most striking developments in the NFL in recent months has been the overwhelming number of quarterbacks the Cleveland Browns have added for the upcoming season. Not stopping there, the team has now brought in yet another signal-caller — a former teammate of Lamar Jackson — to join Shedeur Sanders, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel, following a wave of injuries in recent weeks.
A familiar face is rejoining Kevin Stefanski’s squad after unexpected setbacks among the Browns’ QB’s — none other than Tyler Huntley, most recently with the Miami Dolphins. Snoop had a brief stint with Cleveland last season and now returns to provide support for his new teammates.
The news was confirmed in the last few hours by NFL insider Adam Schefter, who announced the move via his official account on X (formerly Twitter). It’s an intriguing addition by one of the AFC North’s most actively rebuilding teams.
“Sources: Browns are signing QB Tyler “Snoop” Huntley, who spent part of last season with Cleveland. With Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel nursing hamstring injuries, and Shedeur Sanders having a sore shoulder, the Browns need another arm. Enter Huntley.”

Quarterback Tyler Huntley #2 of the Baltimore Ravens motions to the offense against the Pittsburgh Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium on January 06, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Coming out of Utah, Huntley entered the league in 2020 as an undrafted free agent. He made his professional debut with the Baltimore Ravens, serving as the backup to two-time MVP Lamar Jackson.

Stefanski’s latest setbacks
The Cleveland Browns are once again grappling with significant adversity as the quarterback room finds itself depleted by a string of recent injuries. The team’s depth, a point of emphasis for General Manager Andrew Berry, is being tested as the season looms. This unfortunate turn of events has left head coach Kevin Stefanski facing another injury setback, as the promising young signal-caller, Gabriel, was sidelined with a significant injury during a non-contact drill.
With the starting lineup in flux, the Browns’ coaching staff is now evaluating all their options. The injury to Dillon Gabriel, added to that of Kenny Pickett, comes at a critical juncture in the offseason. Meanwhile, speculation abounds regarding potential replacements and contingency plans.
One name being mentioned in whispers around Berea is Shedeur Sanders, with some suggesting a return to form for the collegiate standout could be back on track, potentially offering a surprising solution to the team’s quarterback woes.
