What has been a strong rumor for a couple of seasons now could become a reality rather sooner than later. Apparently, reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers wants nothing to do with the Green Bay Packers anymore, a piece of news that’s shaking the NFL world right now.

The talented gunslinger is reportedly livid with the organization and how little they’ve done to give him more weapons over the years, especially since last year’s draft when they used a 1st-round pick on quarterback Jordan Love:

ā€œReigning MVP Aaron Rodgers is so disgruntled with the Green Bay Packers that he has told some within the organization that he does not want to return to the team, league and team sources told ESPN on Thursday,ā€ ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Draft day.

Matt LaFleur Says He’s Aware Of Aaron Rodgers’ Situation, Wants Him To Come Back

That’s why head coach Matt LaFleur had no choice but to dig deeper into the matter when doing a draft recap, claiming that he really wants Rodgers to come back and lead the offense for them:

ā€œI’d like to keep every conversation that Aaron and I have had up to this point between us. I know the report’s out there. But this guy’s our quarterback, man. He’s our leader of our team. I want nothing more than to see him back in a Packer uniform. In my eyes, he’s the greatest to ever do it. I don’t care about Super Bowls or whatnot. But we want him back here,ā€ LaFleur said.

The coach also said that he can’t even think of the possibility of Rodgers not coming back to the team, vowing to do whatever it takes to convince him to run it back and make another playoff run:

ā€œI can’t ever take my brain to that spot right now,ā€ LaFleur said. ā€œI just want to do everything in my power to ensure that doesn’t happen.ā€

The rumors say that Rodgers’ condition to stay with the team is that they fire General Manager Brian Gutekunst, who didn’t even have the common courtesy of calling him to give him a heads up on the Jordan Love pick. If not, he’s even considering retirement, according to multiple reports.
