Things havenāt gone well for the Dallas Cowboys this year. Hope and expectations were high entering the sason as Dak Prescott was going to play for a contract and Mike McCarthy was going to replace Jason Garrett after a decade of underperforming.
However, the team is just 2-4 after four weeks, the defense canāt get stops, and they just canāt seem to be able of making adjustments. Truth be told, theyād be 1-5 or even 0-6 if it wasnāt for Prescottās stellar performance vs. the Atlanta Falcons.
And now that they wonāt have their starting quarterback under center and are struggling on the worst division in the NFL, things arenāt going well in the locker room either, with several players leaking information and voicing their thoughts on the new coaching staff.
Dallas Cowboys Players Claim Mike McCarthy And His Staff Are āTotally Unpreparedā
Just yesterday, Jane Slater of NFL Network reported that some unnamed Cowboys players werenāt exactly fond of Mike McCarthy and his coaching staff, saying that theyāre ātotally unprepared. They donāt teach. They donāt have any sense of adjusting on the flyā, while other added that āthey just arenāt good at their jobsā.
Mike McCarthy Says They Should Handle Things Like Men
The former Green Bay Packers coach didnāt shy away from the controversy and claimed that even though he hadnāt heard anything about that, they should be able to handle these kinds of things like men:
āWell, I mean, first off, I havenāt heard any of those type of discussions. I think like a lot of things when you hit a part of your season, or any challenge where there is negativity out there and where it comes from and who it comes from, thatās something that Iāve never chased,ā McCarthy said. āIāve always stated that itās important to handle things as men. I mean, if you do have something to say publicly that is of most important, I think itās important to say it to the individual, or particularly in a group dynamic setting, especially in the game of football, especially for the Dallas Cowboys,ā the coach concluded, according to Pro Football Talk.
It seems like the Dallas Cowboys just canāt catch a break and will always find a way to shoot themselves in the foot despite having a solid roster, and McCarthy doesnāt seem like the guy capable of leading this team back to the top of the league.
