One of the big questions for Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers heading into the 2025 season is Aaron Rodgers’ health. So far, so good. After the quarterback’s participation in mandatory minicamp, there have been no setbacks for the veteran, who suffered a serious Achilles injury just two years ago.
“No injuries worth mentioning or things that can slow down our progress in terms of reporting to football camp.” Although it’s still too early to fully evaluate Rodgers’ physical condition, this statement is an early sign that, as several reports suggested, the player stayed in good shape despite being without a team just a few weeks ago.
Now, the next step is training camp. Players will have to report on July 23 in Latrobe for the final stage of preparation ahead of a highly anticipated 2025 NFL season for the Steelers.
Mike Tomlin and Steelers’ progress after mandatory minicamp
Mike Tomlin stated that it’s too early to make a full assessment of how his team is doing, but the mandatory minicamp served its purpose of laying the foundation for his 2025 project.
“We just really kind of laid the foundation through this work for 2025. Teaching guys and establishing how we go about business. The things that we do to build our environment that creates a space where we all can get better. We emphasized things like physical conditioning, preceding anything else. Just getting ready for Latrobe (training camp). This was a football-like environment. When we get to Latrobe, it’s going to be a football environment. I’m appreciative of the efforts. It was a good process.”
