The Pittsburgh Steelers are going through a great time lately, as they’re the only undefeated teamin the National Football League after the first 10 weeks of the regular season and still have some winnable games ahead of them.

However, there are still a lot of people who doubt the Steelers’ ability to take a leap forward in the playoffs, claiming that they’ve beaten mostly subpar teams and that they haven’t been as dominant as their record reflects.

And, while he doesn’t want to take anything away from his team, it seems like head coach Mike Tomlin is far from satisfied with their running game. In fact, he admitted that they’ve been mediocre in that department.

Mike Tomlin Says The Steelers Running Game Is Below Average

“I look forward to getting in the lab with the coaches and the guys in attacking this run game situation. It’s something we shouldn’t have difficulty pushing through, to be honest with you. We have very capable people, but it is below the line as we sit here today,” Tomlin said, according toJoe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

The Steelers had rushed for 100+ yards in five consecutive games before hitting a bit of a bump. Over the past three games, they’ve rushed for a combined 100 yards while averaging 2.5 yards per carry.

Obviously, those kinds of numbers aren’t going to get the job done in the playoffs when the defenses have more time to prepare and make adjustments, and they’re clearly not making the most of a solid running back as James Conner.
