The arrival of Aaron Rodgers to the Pittsburgh Steelers has triggered a major ripple effect. Now, head coach Mike Tomlin and the front office are reportedly interested in signing one of Joe Burrow’s former top wide receivers to boost their offense.

The Steelers might be the most active team this offseason. The AFC North franchise made headlines after acquiring Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster move aimed at achieving success in the 2025 NFL season.

However, Pittsburgh knows that the veteran quarterback can’t do it all by himself. While the team has already added DK Metcalf as its new WR1, another big name may soon arrive to compete with the former Seahawks star.

Report: Steelers eye former Bengals wide receiver to bolster Rodgers-led offense

The Steelers have undergone major changes in recent years. Last season, Russell Wilson was in charge of the offense, but after an underwhelming campaign, the team chose not to offer him a new deal.

With no solid starter in place, Pittsburgh turned its attention to free agent Aaron Rodgers. It took some time to finalize the deal, but eventually, the four-time MVP agreed to join the team for the 2025 season.

Reports suggest the Steelers promised Rodgers additional reinforcements on offense—and they’ve kept their word. Along with DK Metcalf and tight end Jonnu Smith, another potential weapon could soon join the mix.

Recently, wide receiver Tyler Boyd expressed interest in joining the Steelers for 2025. Now, according to Pittsburgh reporter Mark Kaboly, the team has already spoken with Boyd to explore the possibility of bringing him on board.

Although no formal offer has been made, Boyd would be a valuable addition for Mike Tomlin and the Steelers. The former Bengals standout is currently a free agent after spending the 2024 season with the Titans and could be an ideal WR2 for Rodgers.
