The NFL was rocked when Tom Pelissero from NFL Network reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers were acquiring cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith from the Miami Dolphins. Now, Mike Tomlin has new faces to coach and Aaron Rodgers new teammates to work with. Now there’s only one question: how does the Steelers’ depth chart looks?
Well, that’s why we’re here, to solve that question. What’s nice about this trade is that the Steelers managed to reinforce the two sides of the ball. However, it wasn’t for free, they also had to part ways with one of their best defensive players of the last few years in Minkah Fitzpatrick.
But this trade is not the only reason why Pittsburgh’s depth chart is interesting. The black-and-gold have been one of the busiest teams this offseason, landing names like D.K. Metcalf, Robert Woods, Darius Slay, Brandin Echols and many more.
Defense wins championships, is the Steelers’ D good enough?
Let’s start with the biggest name landed, cornerback Jalen Ramsey. His arrival also implied the Steelers now don’t have their starting free safety in Minkah Fitzpatrick. However, previous moves made by Pittsburgh makes us believe they have the solution within the same roster, as they previously brought Juan Thornhill to the team. Plus, Mike Tomlin always has his defense prepared for war.

Here’s how the starting defensive lineup may look for Steelers:
- Defensive End: Derrick Harmon
- Nose Tackle: Keeanu Benton
- Defensive Tackle: Cameron Heyward
- Left Outside Linebacker: T.J. Watt
- Inside Linebacker: Patrick Queen
- Inside Linebacker: Payton Wilson
- Right Outside Linebacker: Alex Highsmith
- Left Cornerback: Darius Slay
- Right Cornerback: Jalen Ramsey
- Strong Safety: DeShon Elliott
- Free Safety: Juan Thornhill

The offense needed an upgrade, how does it look?
The offense also saw new names come in, but the team also lost two of their best weapons last season: George Pickens and Najee Harris. They made moves to not only replace, but upgrade them. Here’s how the offense should look now:
- Quarterback: Aaron Rodgers
- Running back: Jaylen Warren / Kaleb Johnson
- Left Wide Receiver: D.K. Metcalf
- Right Wide Receiver: Robert Woods
- Slot Wide Receiver: Calvin Austin III
- Tight End: Pat Freiermuth / Jonnu Smith
- Left tackle: Broderick Jones
- Left Guard: Isaac Seumalo
- Center: Zach Frazier
- Right Guard: Mason McCormick
- Right Tackle: Troy Fautanu
