You know what they say: Offense can win you games, but defense will win you championships. That premise works for many sports, but it's more evident in the NBA and NFL, even if the rules favor offensive players nowadays.

That's why it's so important to build a strong defense if you want to be an actual contender. We've seen multiple teams put up 30 points per game but that's no good when they allow their rival to score 35.

So, now that the 2021 NFL season is upon us, who's got the best defensive unit in the league? Who's going to get the most stops? Who's got that front-seven that no one else in the NFL wants to face?

Who Has The Best Defense In The NFL In 2021?

According to most rankings, the eye-test, and advanced metrics; experts conclude that the Los Angeles Rams boast the best defensive front in the league this season. That comes as no surprise, considering they have Aaron Donald leading the way.

Donald has a strong case for being the best non-quarterback player in the league. He's a historically dominant unit that just won't be stopped, a headhunter that has to be triple-teamed in an attempt to keep him away from the QB.

Besides having one of the greatest defensive players of all time, the Rams also feature one of the best cornerbacks in the league in Jalen Ramsey. Add Leonard Floyd, Jordan Fuller, and Darious Williams to that mix and you have a deadly defense.

The Rams are expected to be a strong Super Bowl contender next season. They got a massive improvement at quarterback with Matthew Stafford over Jared Goff, and with the offensive repertoire they have and this tough, physical defense, we wouldn't be surprised to see them come out of the NFC.
