Aaron Rodgers called for calm after the Steelersā loss to the Chargers in Week 10. Although the Baltimore Ravens are only one game behind in the AFC North, the quarterback sent a clear message to his teammates: Pittsburgh controls its own destiny.
āWe got to bounce back. We got a division opponent next week. Weāre 5-4. Weāre ahead by a game in the division. We got to play better on offense for sure, but, you know, this is part of the season. Thereās ups and downs. We canāt ride the wave. I felt like our energy, and it starts with me, it wasnāt as great on offense. I felt like we were just kind of struggling a little bit and couldnāt get a play to get going. We also got to realize that we got four division games left to play. Itās a long season.ā
The Pittsburgh Steelers have lost their last four games and will try to avoid a debacle like last season, when they finished the schedule with four consecutive losses and were then crushed in the wild card round of the playoffs by Lamar Jacksonās Ravens.
Are the Steelers eliminated from the playoffs?
No. The Steelers are not eliminated from the playoffs and control their own destiny to win the AFC North. A very important detail, mentioned by Rodgers, is that there are four divisional games on the schedule and, most importantly, two pending matchups against the Ravens.
The big problem is that there are also looming games against the Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills that could turn into losses. Their other opponents for the remainder of the year are the Cincinnati Bengals, the Chicago Bears, the Miami Dolphins, and the Cleveland Browns.
The other option is the fight for the wildcard spots. At the moment, the Chargers are the 5th seed with a 7-3 record, the Bills are the 6th seed with 6-3, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are the 7th seed with 5-4.
