Travis Kelce sent a strong message about the anonymous sources and NFL coach who criticized Shedeur Sanders and his evaluations before the 2025 Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end discussed the situation on his podcast New Heights.

“I think whoever is the anonymous person that’s saying this should come out and say who they were. What is that about? Like, if you’re gonna leak that, be the one that says: ‘Yeah, it just didn’t go well for us.’ Don’t say that you’re anonymous. That’s so lame. I don’t know. I just feel like there’s no validity to it.”

The Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs made it clear that if you’re going to leak a public evaluation about a player like Sanders, you should at least have the courage to say who you are or which team the young quarterback supposedly failed that test with.

Why did Shedeur Sanders not get drafted early?

At the moment, the reason why Shedeur Sanders fell to the fifth round of the 2025 Draft is still unknown. What’s hard to explain, even for Travis Kelce, is how names like Dillon Gabriel or Jalen Milroe were called before Colorado’s star.

“When I saw him on film, I thought he was a way higher pick and I think that’s all that should matter. It doesn’t seem like he’s a terrible person. It seems like he’s just a motivated football player.”
