Aaron Rodgers will not determine how Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers operate in the upcoming draft, according to a report by Ray Fittipaldo. The team is planning to select a quarterback regardless of the veteranâs response.
âI kind of feel like theyâre gonna draft a quarterback no matter what. Aaron Rodgers is gonna be 42 next fall. Itâs a one-year deal with him. We all know that. So, their 2025 draft process doesnât really change a whole heck of a lot. I still think theyâre gonna draft one. I think just, now, itâs a matter of what round.â
In recent days, NFL rumors have linked Shedeur Sanders as a potential option for the Steelers if he falls to the No. 21 pick. If that doesnât happen, Jaxson Dart is the other name thatâs been strongly mentioned.
Who will be Steelersâ starting quarterback?
Aaron Rodgers is the top priority for the Steelers as their starting quarterback, but if the former Super Bowl champion doesnât sign with the team, Mason Rudolph would take over the offense, and Pittsburgh would likely add a player at that position through the draft.
If they donât land Sanders or Dart in the first round, Jalen Milroe and Will Howard are third-round options. Right now, the Steelers only have Rudolph and Skylar Thompson on the roster.
