Shedeur Sanders is expected to be part of the Browns’ final roster ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, according to reports from Mike Garafolo and Mary Kay Cabot. Amid rumors around that possibility, the rookie spoke about whether he deserves to stay with the team for the 2025 season.

“Obviously. I think overall, as a player, I feel like I put in the work. I feel like everything I do, I try to do it to my best and that’s all I can ask for. So, I feel like everybody feels like, you know, they should be on the team. If you ask anybody on the team, would they feel like they belong? They belong in their own eyes. So, I feel like I do, but, I’m my own player. I think about myself in high regard of course. It’s not my decision.”

The Cleveland Browns have decided that Joe Flacco will be the team’s starting quarterback, but the question remains about the rest of the roster spots with Sanders, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel. Pickett is the only one with experience among the three, having played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Eagles, with whom he won a Super Bowl as Jalen Hurts’ backup.

Did the Browns cut Shedeur Sanders from their roster?

No. Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry has said that the team’s intention is to keep four quarterbacks on the roster, which would mean that Shedeur Sanders will remain in Cleveland. The player admitted that, for him, the opportunity to experience a training camp was very valuable for his career.

“I think overall it was great. I think every day is a new day. Every day you learn different things and there’s definitely life lessons you learn out of every situation. So, I’m coming out of training camp happy that I got the opportunity.”
