Tyreek Hill always finds a way to make headlines, even when there are bigger talking points around the NFL. Now, the wide receiver has raised eyebrows by overlooking Miami Dolphins teammate Tua Tagovailoa while including Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes among his top five active quarterbacks.
Responding to a user on social media, Cheetah named Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson, Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Baker Mayfield and Cincinnati Bengals sensation Joe Burrow apart from Mahomes.
“You said, can I rank my Top 5 quarterbacks, uh, Lamar (Jackson), Josh (Allen), Pat (Mahomes) obviously; this is no order by the way. Baker Mayfield and Joe B, Joe Shiesty (Burrow),” Hill said.
The fact that he didn’t mention Tagovailoa gave plenty to talk about on the Internet. Not because the Dolphins signal-caller is widely considered a top five QB, but because Hill used to put Tua on that tier. In fact, he even threw shade at Mahomes to praise his current teammate.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes #15 of the Kansas City Chiefs is congratulated by wide receiver Tyreek Hill #10 after a touchdown during the 4th quarter of the game against the Oakland Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium on December 01, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri.
When Hill called Tagovailoa more accurate than Mahomes
Hill made a big change in his career when the Chiefs traded him to the Dolphins ahead of the 2022 NFL season. Even though he formed one of, if not the best QB-WR duo in the league alongside Mahomes, the wideout surprised many by claiming Tua was better than his former teammate in certain aspects.

“Obviously, like I’m gonna go with 15 as the strongest arm but as far as accuracy-wise, I’m going with Tua all day,” Hill said during an episode of his podcast It Needed to Be Said in June 2022.
Hill’s chemistry with Tua, a situation to watch
While Hill is known for purposely giving plenty to talk about with cryptic social media activity, his recent omission of Tagovailoa makes many wonder whether he really wants to stay in Miami, despite the comments Cheetah made about his future in January.
“What y’all had heard at the end of the season was frustration,” Hill said, via ESPN. “I’ve been winning my whole life, bruh. Y’all don’t understand … I deserve to feel like that; I deserve to have some kind of opinion. … I compete, I love to compete, bruh.”
Mike McDaniel and the Dolphins have made it clear that they’re counting on Hill next season, regardless of the rumors that surrounded him in the last few months. But all eyes will be on his connection with Tagovailoa, considering that he hasn’t succeed since parting with Mahomes and the Chiefs.
