Even though we’re in Super Bowl week, Deshaun Watson remains a hot topic in the NFL after he requested a trade from the Houston Texans. The talented player isn’t happy with the team after a tumultuous season and a more complicated offseason and he wants out of H-Town as soon as possible.

The 25-year-old is one of the top quarterbacks in the league right now and without any hesitation, he will draw a lot of attention in the offseason, although new GM Nick Casarios revealed the franchise doesn’t plan to ship the player.

Even former star Brett Favre offered his advice to Watson but it doesn’t seem like he’s taking it. In fact, the latter is reportedly ready to fire back at the Texans if they don’t trade him this NFLoffseason.

Deshaun Watson could skip the season if he doesn’t get traded

Contrary to what Favre said about letting the team handle their business, the 3-time Pro-Bowler will take care of things if he doesn’t get his wish granted in the next couple of months. According to NBC Sports’ Chris Simms, the former Clemson player could sit out the 2021 season to prove his point.

“I’ve been led to believe this—that there’s no way that Deshaun Watson will play for the Houston Texans again,” Simms said on PFT Live on Monday. “I have been told by somebody that I trust that says ‘Deshaun Watson will not play for the Houston Texans ever again, and he’s willing to sit out football for the year if he has to.’ That’s where I’ve been led to understand this situation and where it’s at right now, and like I said, it’s someone that I trust very much.”

This is not a good picture for the Texans, who just extended Watson’s contract last year. He’s set to make the bank but that doesn’t happen in H-Town, apparently. This man has done everything to be considered a great asset in the league and if the franchise can find a good trade partner, Deshaun will be happy to join them.

Only time will tell, though, how this whole situation will end up. As for now, the only certain thing is that the 2020 NFL Passing yards leader isn’t comfortable in NRG Stadium and he’s trying to force his way out of the team.
