Even if you don’t believe a trade is going to happen, you should keep an eye on Russell Wilson’s situation with the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. What started as simple rumors about a series of teams calling to see his availability could end up in the split of the quarterback and his NFL franchise.
We just saw how things ended between Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions, JJ Watt and the Houston Texans and just like Deshaun Watson, Wilson could be another star traded this offseason from their current team.
An NFC team is reportedly looking to see if they can get Wilson this offseason, trying to improve their level after a not so good 2020/21 season that didn’t go as well as expected. Russ would bring a lot to that squad in one of the most surprising moves in recent years.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Washington Football Team would be more than interested in landing the player in the case the Hawks decide to part ways with the 2014 NFL Champion.
“They’re certainly going to be evaluating any quarterback who’s available. Like this Russell Wilson chatter is not lost on them I can assure you that. And it’s more than chatter, there’s a thing brewing there. Not as Deshaun Watson levels yet, it may be amendable, there may be some way to keep that thing together but people are monitoring it and I can tell you Washington is doing that.”
Russ is still one of the best players in the league; he had a great season last year and even though Seattle left the playoffs way too early, they are ready to run it back this campaign. However, with all the reports suggesting the relationship between the player and the team isn’t the best right now, several organizations will try to unlock negotiations with the team, including the 2020 NFC East champions.
