The Deshaun Watson situation with the Houston Texans is getting worse by the day. Watson has formally requested a trade and would love to start from scratch elsewhere as he’s livid with the organization and the way they’ve dealt with their ground-breaking decisions over the past couple of years. To make things even worst, it seems like they could also lose veteran star J.J. Watt, who’s also done with the front office. Needless to say, that has put half the NFL on notice and inquiring about their availability.

We’ve already seen a huge trade go down when the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams swapped Jared Goff and multiple picks for Matthew Stafford. Los Angeles paid a steep price for an upgrade at quarterback, meaning the Watson could only be more expensive given his youth.

So, with the New England Patriots eager to land their quarterback for the future and considering that they have some assets that could give them some leverage, Matt Wadleigh of ClutchPoints put together the three trade packages that could actually get them Deshaun Watson.

3. 2021 1st and 3rd round picks, 2022 1st round pick, J.C.Jackson, N’Keal Harry, andJarrett Stidham

There’s just no way that the New England Patriots can get Deshaun Watson without parting ways with J.C. Jackson. He’s one of the best cornerbacks in the league and is just 25 years old, and the Houston Texans want and need to improve their defense.

N’Keal Harry has shown glimpses of greatness but has struggled with injuries to start his career. Also, he didn’t have much to work with this season with Cam Newton barely throwing the ball.

With this trade, the Texans would get a couple of picks in this year’s draft to address their defensive needs and could try and see what Jarrett Stidham is all about, even though he’s been far from impressive thus far.

It’s clear as day that the Houston Texans need an upgrade at the running back position. David Johnson is nowhere near the player he once was and he just can’t seem to stay healthy, thus making Damien Haris a solid option.

Once again, the Texans would improve their porous secondary defense with the addition of J.C. Jackson, who finished the season with 9 interceptions and is yet to enter the prime of his career.

They’d also get Jarrett Stidham this way, and the draft assets are also better in this trade package, so they could try and get this deal done in the case the Texans decide to play hardball.

And last but not least, this is the deal Bill Belichick has to offer if he wants to make sure to get this trade done, as they’d be giving away six picks (including four first-rounders) to land their future quarterback.

We’ve already talked long enough about J.C. Jackson, Damian Harris, and N’Keal Harry and what they can bring to the table, and that draft capital could certainly help them either trade for another quarterback or get one in the draft.

Deshaun Watson is talented and young enough to be worthy of this kind of risk. The Patriots could be back to the top of the AFC in no time with him taking the realms of the offense, so they shouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger.
