Davante Adams’ arrival to the Los Angeles Rams further boosts an offense looking to become one of the most explosive in its division. Beyond that, the wide receiver praised the team’s mentality — especially that of head coach Sean McVay — comparing it to that of two NBA stars, neither of whom is LeBron James.

It’s no coincidence that the Rams’ recent success has followed a consistent pattern — driven by the vision and ambition with which their coaching staff approaches each new season.

The former Packers and Jets star spoke with Kay Adams and expressed his excitement about joining a team coached by Sean McVay, for whom he had nothing but praise. He also compared his new HC’s approach to the mentality of legends like Kobe Bryant — and even Michael Jordan.

“Seeing how he is as a person, the respect he has for players, the way he communicates, you know, the vibe, just the sameness every single day. You love that in your coach, and you love the respect that he gives,” Adams stated.

“You know not being satisfied with what he’s done, which is the mentality of all the greats. I feel like Jordan was that way, Kobe, with the ‘jobs not done, that jobs not finished’ that whole mentality. Yes, the greats are never satisfied where they are, and they’re always trying to continue to elevate. Having won a Super Bowl, he knows what it takes now,” he also added.

The importance of Adams’ arrival in L.A.

Davante Adams’ arrival is set to significantly elevate Matthew Stafford‘s game and the entire Rams offense. The WR, a consistent Pro Bowler, finished the 2024 season with 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and 8 touchdowns. His elite route-running and ability to create separation will give his new QB a dominant, reliable target.

His presence will also greatly benefit his teammates by drawing significant defensive attention, opening opportunities for other receivers like Puka Nacua. While a Super Bowl is never guaranteed, this acquisition certainly boosts the Rams’ chances. Their win-now mentality, combined with Stafford’s leadership and a potent receiving corps, positions them strongly for a deep playoff run.
