The New England Patriots made lots of moves during the 2025 NFL offseason. One of those moves was acquiring LT Will Campbell in the latest draft. The offensive lineman just signed the dotted line, fulfilling what should be an ‘easy’ decision for most top picks in the draft. That leads us to Travis Hunter and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Selected with the 4th overall pick, Campbell is poised to be a massive upgrade in New England’s offensive line. This also means he will make quite a few bucks in the process. Cambpell will get $43.66m fully guaranteed with a $28.39m signing bonus, according to Ian Rapoport’s report.
The domino effect doesn’t end there. At the time of writing, the only rookie selected in the top 10 that hasn’t signed his contract is none other than the notorious WR/CB, Travis Hunter of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Why hasn’t Travis Hunter signed yet?
Being the 2nd overall pick, Travis Hunter is due to make big-time money in the NFL. The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) determined that Hunter’s rookie contract should have 4 years and $46.65m guaranteed and the standard fifth-year option.

However, it seems that Hunter’s ‘unicorn’ status as a dual-position player will also bring ‘unicorn’ stipulations to his contract. The CBA has bonuses called Performance-Based Pay (PBP). The Jaguars are reportedly willing to use Hunter as both WR and CB. That should put Hunter in line to lead the NFL in snaps played. This would mean a bonus of approximately $300,000 and $400,000, according to NFL insider, Dan Graziano. This is an unprecedented number.

Is Travis Hunter’s future in jeopardy?
No, not at all. As you might have seen (unless you’ve been living under a rock), Hunter is having the time of his life in OTAs. He is dancing, joking and balling throughout the Jaguars’ facility every single day. It’s just a matter of ultimating some details. In the end, having every part of his contract adjusted to a two-way player like him is not easy.
