It goes without saying that Peyton Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. For years, he battled and went back-and-forth with other legends of the game but perhaps his biggest rival was always Tom Brady.

Brady and Manning dominated the league over the past couple of decades and even though most people always thought of Peyton as the better quarterback, Brady often got the best of him, especially in the playoffs.

Manning and Tom have always had a close relationship. They’ve been elite at the trash-talking game both in the gridiron and on social media but have nothing but high praise and respect for the other. It’s always been like that.

Then again, considering Peyton is a bit of a comedian and has always had a feel for trying to throw some friendly shade at Brady, everybody was expecting a better or funnier prediction of Tom’s first year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming from him.

I think he’s going to do great. Obviously, I can tell how excited he is. I know Bruce and Clyde are excited to have him not only on the practice field and game field, but in the building as a leader. Certainly not normal circumstances with the pandemic and lack of an offseason program, but if anybody can handle that, it’s going to be Tom,” Peyton told the Los Angeles Times.

Friendly jabs aside, he’s totally right. If someone can handle the challenge like the best of them that’s definitely Tom Brady. Now, it’s time to prove that he’s still got it at 42-years-old and that he wasn’t just a system quarterback.
