You know what they say: all good things eventually come to an end, and thePittsburgh Steelers’ impressive 11-game winning streak was no exception to that rule. Surprisingly, though, it came vs. a team that’s not even likely to make the playoffs.
Mike Tomlin’s team entered Monday night as the only undefeated team in the NFL, boasting an 11-0 record that most people put an asterisk next to. Well, now that Alex Smith and the Washington Football Team exposed them, it seems like those doubters were right all along.
The Steelers just couldn’t execute in the RedZone. Washington’s tough defense put a lot of pressure on Ben Roethlisberger and they couldn’t get the job done on the ground either. Their defense was solid as usual, but you’re not going to win if you can’t score.
Alex Smith continued his amazing and inspiring comeback story by knocking down the only unbeaten team in the league. But even though his efforts didn’t go unnoticed, most people focused on mocking the Steelers rather than giving Smith his flowers. Check out the funniest memes and reactions about Pittsburgh’s loss to “a team without a name”.

While most people are just going to mock the Steelers for losing this game, we also must give credit where it’s due. That 23-17 win came thanks to a flawless execution by Ron Rivera’s team and they deserve a lot of credit.
Moreover, let’s also consider the fact that the NFL’s rescheduling has affected the Steelers the most, as they’re poised to play 3 games over a 12-day span. It’s only natural to see them drop the ball every now and then in those conditions.
At the end of the day, the Steelers are a lock to make the playoffs. Then again they’ll have to make several adjustments if they want to silence their critics and prove that their winning streak wasn’t a fluke due to the easiest schedule in the NFL.
