Gronkowski’s retirement came as a huge surprise. He was still young and one of the biggest stars in the league and was coming off a Super Bowl win. Moreover, he announced his decision right before training camp, which made it tough for the Patriots to find a suitable replacement.

However, most people speculated that Rob Gronkowski was far from done with playing football. There was a lot of speculation regarding a potential return mid-season, and he never truly shut down the possibility of a potential comeback.

He also claimed that the game is finally slowing down again for him and that he’s back at game-shape, which is a scary thought for the rest of the NFL. Then again, he must stay healthy for a full season.

Can Rob Gronkowski Stay Healthy This Season?

When healthy and ready to go, Gronkowski’s just unstoppable. However, he has a long history of injuries and he claimed the reason he left the game in the first place was to heal his body. For now, he’s looking like he’s a full-go.

ā€œThe back surgeries have healed. So he had a year of healing. He looks to me like he was five or six years ago,ā€ Buccaneer’s coach Bruce Arians told ESPN following the first team’s full practice.
