With the 2025 NFL season right around the corner, most eyes are set on Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders. However, new reports have suggested an intriguing storyline brewing on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and safety Shilo Sanders.
After Sanders’ shocking fall in the 2025 NFL Draft, much attention has been focused on the Browns’ signal-caller. However, the younger son of Deion Sanders has attracted far more attention than a typical 144th overall pick.
Now, as he vies to earn the starting job in Cleveland, Sanders will be put to the test early as he will command the huddle for the NFL‘s preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers.
Keep up
Meanwhile, down in tropical Central Florida, the scenery is starkly different for Shedeur’s older sibling, Shilo, who signed as an undrafted free agent (UDFA) with the Buccaneers. As reports indicate, the defensive back is now facing an uphill climb.

As reported by the Buccaneers’ first depth chart release of 2025, Shilo Sanders is currently listed as a fourth-string safety. While making the initial depth chart is a positive sign for the undrafted rookie, making the 53-man roster will be a tough challenge.

What the Browns expect from Shedeur
Ahead of his first NFL appearance, most eyes in the country will be on Shedeur. But head coach Kevin Stefanski and the Browns want him cool, calm, and collected. If he can show the same demeanor and poise he displayed in college, he should be able to handle the nerves that come with his introduction to the league.
“My expectations for Shedeur are no different than the rest of the guys, honestly. But expect him to go operate,” Kevin Stefanski admitted. “When you get in these preseason games, you try to keep it very simple so guys can play fast. All concepts that our players know and can kind of not think too much, and just play ball.”

When was Shedeur’s last game?
The Browns’ quarterback hasn’t been under center since December 28. Then, playing for the Colorado Buffaloes, Shedeur faced the BYU Cougars in the Valero Alamo Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
