Mexico won 0-1 over Costa Rica for Matchday 2 of the Final Round of the Concacaf 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. The lone goal of the match was by Orbelin Pineda from the penalty spot at the 45th minute of the match. With this victory, El Tri are unbeaten with two victories so far.

However, not everything was good news for Mexico as Alexis Vega, who started the match, had to be replaced after getting injured. The forward had to leave the pitch in a stretcher.
