Soccer superstar and World Cup winner Diego Maradona passed away at 60 years old on Wednesday afternoon, according to Argentinean outlets.

The world is shocked and mourning the passing of Argentine superstar Diego Armando Maradona, universally deemed one of the greatest players of all time, and the hero of the 1986 FIFA World Cup.

The 60-year-old was recovering at home fromrecent surgery before suffering a deadly heart attack, according to reports by local outlets. Apparently, he was being taken care of before suddenly passing away.

The former player had been struggling with different ailments over the past couple of years but was reportedly making great progress in his recovery, thus making his passing even more saddening for the soccer community.
