The world is still shocked by the fact thatLionel Messi decided to leave Barcelona. The Argentinean playmaker let the club know about his decision earlier in the week, kickstarting a massive uproar among the team’s supporters.

Messi has become the cornerstone of Barcelona’s project for almost two decades but he’s reportedly not fond of their plans, nor he enjoyed his face-to-face conversation with newcomer Ronald Koeman.

It seems like Messi’s disappointment towards the club came from a couple of months ago and their humiliating 8-2 loss to Bayern Munichwas just the icing on the cake. Now, his decision is final and his latest gesture proved it.

Lionel Messi Skips Barcelona’s Pre-season Covid-19 Testing

According to Bechler, Messi sent another statement to the club letting them know that he’s no longer a part of the club, even though the Catalans are willing to take the matter to court as they don’t intend to let him walk away for free.

Where Is Messi Going?

La Liga recently sided with Barcelona and stated that the player must fulfill his contract or pay his exit clause, as he didn’t let the club know about his desire to leave prior to the June 31 deadline.

Manchester City are reportedly the frontrunners to win Messi’s sweepstakes. They would be willing to include multiple players – with Gabriel Jesus reportedly involved in most offers – as well as paying around€150 million for his services.

Then again, whether Barcelona will agree to these terms or not is yet to be seen, as team president Josep Maria Bartomeu is reportedly looking to get as much money as he can, even if that means tainting the legacy of the greatest player in club history.
