The South American World Cup Qualifiers will be finally back this week. On the road to Qatar 2022, Peru and Colombia will face off today at the Estadio Nacional for Matchday 7 seeking to recover from a bad start to their campaigns. Both sides will clash needing the three points to reduce the gap with the top five.

The hosts have failed to win in the tournament so far, heading to this round desperate for their first victory. Ricardo Gareca's team wasn't favored by the schedule, though, as it had to face the likes of Paraguay, Brazil, Chile, and Argentina in the first four rounds. After claiming only one point after those games, Peru need to get back on track soon.

Meanwhile, Colombia haven't begun their journey as expected either. With Carlos Queiroz no longer on the bench, Reinaldo Rueda has taken the helm hoping to change the team's fortunes eyeing a World Cup berth. Los Cafeteros will travel to Lima hoping to grab their second win, even though it doesn't look like an easy job.
