The battle for the 2021 Gold Cup trophy will resume this weekend with the beginning of the knockout stages. The USA and Jamaica will face each other on Sunday, July 24, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington with a place in the semifinals on the line.

The young USMNT squad has got through to the quarterfinals after taking control of Group A, but from now on, it will face the toughest part of the Gold Cup.Gregg Berhalter's boys arrive at this game following a hard-fought win over Canada but the Reggae Boyz will be looking for revenge from the 2017 final.

Theodore Whitmore's men have also done a good job in the group phase, despite losing at Costa Rica in the final matchday. Jamaica left most of their first-choice players on the bench that day, but now they will bring the best they got to seek a place in the semifinals.

USMNT confirmed lineup

With Walker Zimmerman ruled out for the remainder of the 2021 Gold Cup, Berhalter has to make important decisions at the back. In fact, he has to give serious consideration to many positions of the field.

Berhalter decided to go with three at the back and three strikers this time. This will be the USA lineup: Matt Turner; Sam Vines, James Sands, Miles Robinson; Shaq Moore, Kellyn Acosta, Gianluca Busio, Paul Arriola; Matthew Hoppe, Sebastian Lletglet, Daryl Dike.

Jamaica confirmed starting XI

The Reggae Boyz have received some great news for the upcoming clash. Bobby Reid, who has missed the last two games after testing positive for Covid-19, returned to full training and will be eligible to face the USMNT.

Theodore Whitmore might go back to a 4-4-2 formation for this clash after trying with a 4-2-3-1 against Costa Rica when most of the first-choice players sat out. This is how Jamaica will line up: Andre Blake; Alvas Powell, Damion Lowe, Liam Moore, Kemar Lawrence; Junior Flemmings, Devon Williams, Daniel Johnson, Blair Turgott; Cory Burke, Bobby Reid.
