The US national team and Jamaica face each other today, October 7, at the Q2 Stadium in Austin for the Final Round of the Concacaf World Cup Qualifying 2022. It will be an important match for both teams, while the hosts need a victory to climb positions in the standings, Jamaica need to add their first victory.

Gregg Berhalter’s side suffered in the first two games of the Final Round of the Qualifiers, when they drew against El Salvador and Canada. Everything was looking bad for the United States, until they got a victory over Honduras to get some relief.

The Reggae Boyz, on the other hand,  are currently at the bottom of the table with just one point from three matches. They lost their first two games against Mexico and Panama, but then drew 1-1 with Costa Rica. Now, they will try to get their first victory in the tournament.

USA’s confirmed lineup

The USA have the advantage between the two teams with a 7-1- 6 record. Berhalter won’t have for this match some players such as defender John Brooks due to back problems, while Tim Ream is out due to family reasons. Also, Pulisic and Giovanni Reyna are both out through injury.

This will be the US national team’s starting lineup against Jamaica: 1)Matt Turner, 2)Sergiño Dest, 3)Walker Zimmerman, 4)Tyler Adams (capt.), 5)Antonee Robinson, 6)Yunus Musah, 7)Paul Arriola, 8)Weston McKennie, 11)Brenden Aaronson, 12)Miles Robinson, 16)Ricardo Pepi.

This will be Jamaica’s starting XI to face the United States: Blake; Mariappa, D.Lowe, Powell, Lawrence; D. Williams, Watson, Magee, J.Lowe; Reid, Nicholson.
