Copa America 2021 will be a very special competition for Neymar Jr. The Brazilian superstar shined in the world's greatest tournaments, such as World Cup, Champions League, and more. He still wants, however, to make a bigger impression in the continental cup.

The Paris Saint-Germain figure has missed the last two editions of Copa America, turning the current one into a great opportunity for him to finally get his hands on the trophy. Even though most of his teammates did that in 2019, he missed it with a ruptured ankle ligament.

However, in his seven Copa America games, Neymar proved his talent and showed his breathtaking skills, which on many occasions made the difference for his team. From a 19-year-old rookie to a world-class superstar, Neymar was joyful to watch in this competition.

Neymar's Copa America highlights

Neymar Jr. was called up to his first Copa America in 2011 at his 19 years of age, as he was starting to impress with Santos. He started all four games in that edition, in which Brazil fell against Paraguay on penalties. Four years later, he took part in his second continental competition held in Chile already being a Barcelona megastar and wearing the armband.

That tournament didn't end well for him either, though, as he saw the red card in the quarterfinal-tie with La Albirroja, who ended up winning on penalties again. Neymar then missed the following Copa America tournaments. In 2016, he had to choose between Río 2016 Olympics or the Copa America Centenario, and he decided to chase the first gold medal for Brazil. In 2019, he was ruled out with injury. However, his Copa America appearances left plenty of highlights.

Neymar Jr. took part in seven Copa America matches and has been quite prolific with four goals and two assists. He still has a lot to offer, though, which is why the current competition might see even better performances from Neymar.
