The Formula 1 2021 campaigncontinues its course today with the fifth Grand Prix Race of the year at Circuit de Monaco.The Monaco Grand Prix is a scheduled Formula One race at the Circuit de Monaco inMonte Carlo, today, May 23, 2021.

The race will be the fifth round of the 2021Formula OneWorld Championship, and the 78thGrand Prix of Monaco. Ittakes place on an enclosed course in the streets of Monaco, with several changes in height, tight corners, and a tunnel, rendering it one of the toughest courses of Formula One.

After problems with his gearbox in the morning, Leclerc will not compete in the race today. On Saturday, he won the pole, but mechanical problems forced him to withdraw before the race on Sunday. Max Verstappen will lead the field from second place.

2021 Spanish Grand Prix: Storylines

It’s been more than two months since the beginning of the newFormula 1 2021 season. So far, the Bahrain Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit,Sakhir, took place onMarch 28, while theEmilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola Circuit,Imola, happened on April 18,the Portuguese Grand Prix at the Algarve International Circuit was set for May 2, as well as theSpanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya,Montmeló on May 9. This will be the fifth out of 23Grand Prix events during the year.

Mercedes are once again expected to be dominating the standings, both the drivers’ table with their main superstar Hamiltonand the constructors’ as well, in which they finished atop in the last seven years. With Ferrari failing to be a strong contender in the last seasons, Red Bull are set to step up to finish Mercedes’ kingdom.
