Tokyo 2020 Basketball Standings: Table and results of men's Olympic tournament

The first day of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Men's Basketball Matchday 2 has ended. Here, check out how things stand after the second round of theMen's Basketball TournamentGroup Stage.

Matchday 3of theTokyo 2020 Men’s Basketball Tournamentis almost over with matches from Group C to be played on Sunday, August 1. So far, there has not been any grand upset in the thirdround, but Iran, Nigeria, and hosts Japan have been eliminated from the tournament. The three teams didn’t manage to add a victory to their account in the final game, and thus they missed out on a spot in the last eight.

France justified their favorite role by beating Iran 79-62 in the final Group Stage match, while Nigeria suffered another defeat, this time to Italy 80-71. Germany have failed to win once more after being defeated 89-76 by Australia.

Meanwhile, the United States absolutely cruised past the Czech Republic with a final result of 119-84 written on the scoresheet. Here, check out the results, and standingsof theTokyo 2020 Men’s Basketball Tournament as of July 31.

After the first day of Matchday 3, France lead Group A with six pointsand a win percentage of 100%, leaving the United States behind in second with five points and awin percentage of 66.7%. Currently, the Czech Republic and Iranare located in the bottom two positions, as the Czech have four points.Iran are on the bottom since they have failed to grab at least onewin, and thus, they have been knocked out of the tournament.

In Group B, Australia and Italy hold the top two positions.However, after playing three games, Australia have managed to three times, so they have a win percentage of 100%. Italy, meanwhile, lost once and won twice, so they are sitting in second place. Germany are third with four points, while Nigeria areplaced last with three points as they have three defeats so far, meaning they will not go through to the next phase.

With Group C taking part in the thirdround on Sunday,Slovenia and Spain have an identical record of two victorieseach and thus, both have awin percentage of 100%. Moreover, Slovenia have netted and conceded more than Spain, so as a result, they sit on the top for now. Argentina and Japanhave tow points in twogames, as they both were defeated.
