The rules of the sports may vary or be different from those normally known, but it all depends on the condition of the athletes to compete.

This edition of the 2020 Paralympics Games offers a total of 539 events in 22 different sports. In short, "guaranteed entertainment." Most of the events are concentrated, as is usually expected, on the athletics side with 167 events.

New sports were added to this edition of the Paralympics, for several years organizations have been advocating to add new sports and thus include more athletes. In total 10 new sports were added and only one was replaced.
