The last Winter Olympics were held in PyeongChang, South Korea, in 2018. Those Games were a success and it was the first time in the history that more than 100 medals were awarded. Here, check out where and when the next Winter Olympics will be held.

Where and when will the next Olympic Games take place?

The next Winter Olympic Games will take place in Beijing, China from February 4 to February 20, 2022. The city will make history as the first to hold both the Summer Olympics (2008) and the Winter Games. However, the first country to hold both was South Korea, as they also held the Summer Olympics in Seoul 1988.

The next year will be 109 events in total, with new ones added to the program as: ski jumping, snowboard cross, women's monobob, women's big air freestyle events, mixed relay in short track speed skating, and mixed-team competitions in freestyle skiing aerial events, as well.

Beijing was elected as the host city in 2015, and after 2022, the next Winter Olympics will be held in Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, in 2026. So far, Norway has been the most successful nation in these Games, while the United States has won medals in every Winter Olympics.
