Angel Reese is known for being outspoken and she didn’t hold back when celebrating Rose’s win 62-54 over Vinyl in the Unrivaled championship game, capping the inaugural season of the women’s 3-on-3 basketball league.

“SO PROUD OF THIS GROUP MAN!” she wrote on her X (formerly Twitter) account, after Unrivaled clinched the championships. The Chicago Sky star couldn’t play the final match, as she was sidelined due to a hand injury.

Reese was watching and posting during the game, also sending a message to those who doubt the team. “WHAT YALL GON SAY NOW??” she posted on X, seemingly in response to Rose being predicted by ESPN to finish in the last place.

It’s been a sensitive topic, with Reese and Brittney Sykes addressing it in postgame interviews, even with the games aired on Turner Sports. However, Rose had the last laugh.

Reese was also named Defensive Player of the Year, apart from ending as champion. She and each player of the championship-winning team will receive $50,000 in prize money, which is part of the league’s goals to compensate players.

The league was co-founded by Napheesa Collier and fellow WNBA star Breanna Stewart, and has the highest average salary for players of any pro women’s sports league with many earning six-figure salaries. Players in Unrivaled have an average salary of more than $220,000, which is close to the maximum base salary in the WNBA.
