The league released a statement condemning āracism, hate, and discrimination in all forms.ā Meanwhile, The Fever confirmed they were going to collaborate with the WNBA in the investigation.
Clark addressed the issue on Monday, condemning the alleged comments. āThereās no place for that in our game, thereās no place for that in society,ā she said, according to a video shared by Chloe Peterson. āWe certainly want every person that comes into our arena, whether player, whether fan, to have a great experience.ā
She also admitted that she ādidnāt hear anything,ā she trusts the leagueās procedure. āThatās why theyāre looking into it. That doesnāt mean that nothing happened. You just trust the leagueās investigation and Iām sure theyāll do the right thing,ā she explained.

Clark and Reese clarified their tense moment on court
IndyStar clarified that the WNBAās investigation is not related to the take foul committed by Caitlin Clark on Angel Reese in the third quarter, which was later upgraded to a Flagrant 1. The foul occurred as Clark stopped a fast break, sending Reese to the floor.
Reese quickly got up to confront Clark, but Aliyah Boston stepped in to defuse the situation. While Clark walked away, both Reese and Boston received offsetting technical fouls for the exchange.
After the game, Reese downplayed the moment, calling it a ābasketball playā and agreed with the officialsā decision to upgrade the foul to a Flagrant 1. Meanwhile, Clark said that there was ānothing maliciousā about the play.
