Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders reveals which team would be ideal for Shedeur in the 2025 NFL Draft

Shedeur Sanders is one of many talented quarterbacks entering the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. With his final destination still uncertain, his father Deion shared what he believes would be the ideal spot for the former Colorado Buffaloes player.

In recent comments during a press conference, Coach Prime, the experienced head coach of the Buffaloes, revealed that for him, the ideal destination for his son would be alongside Derek Carr with the New Orleans Saints.

“I like the colors, I like the city, I like the food, I like the people,” Deion Sanders said of Shedeur potentially going to the Saints in the upcoming Draft. “I like the possibilities.”

Shedeur’s dream of being selected in the first round is huge. Initial reports suggested that his best chances of being picked were by the New York Giants, but this scenario changed drastically after the acquisitions of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

If not the Giants, then who?

Sanders is set to be one of the few quarterbacks selected in the highest positions of the upcoming draft. However, many scenarios are being considered regarding where his pick could land if, in fact, the Giants don’t select him.

Dan Graziano, ESPN journalist who specifically analyzed this context, sees the possibility of the former Buffaloes player falling to the ninth spot, exactly where the Saints are slated to pick.

“We look at the Saints at No. 9 as a team that has a long-term question at the position. Further down, the Steelers at No. 21,” Graziano said. “Then, you start to think about if the Browns and Giants like him and just don’t like him at No. 2 or 3, they trade up from the early part of the second round back into the first to try to get him.”

The uncertainty surrounding his final destination

The options for Shedeur Sanders’ final destination in the NFL are wide, yet many are still uncertain about what teams plan to do. Adam Schefter is one of them.

“Right now, Greeny – just under a month away from the NFL Draft – it sounds increasingly unlikely that Shedeur Sanders would wind up going 2 or 3,” Schefter said this week on ESPN’s NFL Draft Countdown. “That is where it would get interesting. The story of the draft then would become, where is Shedeur Sanders going to go?

“Now, I still think the Cleveland Browns are still talking about whether or not they would take Shedeur Sanders. The New York Giants are still talking about whether or not they would take Shedeur Sanders. And it’s always possible that one of these organizations can have a change in philosophy and a shift in their thinking and come around to Shedeur. But the way that I’m reading it right now is that he doesn’t figure to be either team’s pick right now through the tea leaves.”
