There were a lot of concerns in 2018 when Kevin Durant suffered an Achilles injury, as there have been countless NBA players who have never been able to come back to the same level after going down with that kind of career-alteringailment.

Kevin Durant was sidelined for 18 months due to the hiatus and the pandemic, and, while the footage showed that he hadn’t lost one step, some people were still worried about how his body would hold up once he came back.

Well, so far, so good for the 2-time NBA Champion. Kevin Durant has looked as good as ever – if not better – during the first 15 games of the season with the Brooklyn Nets, proving again that he’s a one-in-a-lifetime kind of talent.

Steve Nash Says We Still Haven’t Seen The Best Of Kevin Durant

But to make things even scarier for the rest of the league, his coach Steve Nash still thinks that there are ‘layers to his game’ that have yet to come back, which is incredible considering the way he’s performed lately.

Thus far, the former Oklahoma City Thunder superstar has averaged 30.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 2.9 three-pointers per game on 51/44/86 shooting splits and 36.7 minutes per game.

It’s clear that the Brooklyn Nets still have a couple of things to figure out – especially in the defensive end – if they want to fight for a trip to the NBA finals but it seems like they’ll only go as far as Kevin Durant can take them.

There was never a doubt thatif a player could come back from such a devastating and career-jeopardizing injury, it would be Kevin Durant. Even so, he’s surpassing all expectations and playing like the best player in the world right now.
