It’s been a wild ride for Cam Newton. He’s won at every single level but couldn’t get the job done on his only trip to the Super Bowl with the Carolina Panthers. Now, 5 years removed of his NFL MVP season, the veteran quarterback will try and keep the New England Patriots’ dynasty back in business.

The Panthers cut Newton in the offseason to make room for Teddy Bridgewater after also firing coach Ron Rivera. It was clear that the team wanted to head in a new direction and their dual-threat quarterback no longer fit their plans or timeline.

That’s when Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots stepped in. They trusted him to be back at full strength and took a gamble on Newton, who’s earned the starting quarterback spot in training camp following Tom Brady’s departure.

Newton has reportedly had a great camp with the Patriots. Moreover, he’s been all smiles again after a tough offseason, and even though he’s still the same confident and often controversial player as always, he clearly looks more motivated than ever.

Cam Newton Says The New England Patriots Have Been A ‘Match Made In Heaven For Him’

Talking about his expectations for the season, Cam Newton says hehas alreadyembraced the Patriots’ winning cultureand that’s why he believes they were a ‘match made in heaven’ for him:

“Honestly, it’s been a match made in heaven for me just knowing I am at a place where everything is pulling in the same direction and everything is geared towards winning. Coming from a person that has won at all levels, I feel as if that if I do the things the right way, trusting the same people who have gotten me to this point and trust their coaching, I think this is something that when you look at an opportunity in a timely manner, it can be accomplished,” the former MVP claimed.

There’s no doubt that – when healthy – Cam Newton is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. The Patriots have arguably the greatest football mastermind of all time pulling their strings and now a still-young former NFLMVP under center. Maybe we shouldn’t count them out just yet.
