Times of change are upon the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are seeking redemption in the upcoming 2025 NFL season. Starting early with the departures of the HC and GM, now some players are also being left out as the team looks ahead. Evan Engram has been informed of his departure from the franchise, and Trevor Lawrence broke his silence after learning of the news.

Recent reports revealed that the former Ole Miss Rebels player and two-time Pro Bowler was released by the Jaguars, meaning fans will no longer get to see the fearsome duo of Engram and Lawrence on the field—at least not in the short term.

Lawrence didn’t miss the chance to say goodbye to his teammate, with whom he shared the last few years on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ offense. Through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the quarterback dedicated a heartfelt message to Evan Engram.

One of the best I’ve been around,” Lawrence said via @Trevorlawrencee. “Going to miss you bro. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me and I have so much respect for how you handle your business. A true pro!! Keep being you.”

Last season for the former Giants player may not have been his best in terms of numbers, however, he always proved to be a key player for his teammates. He finished the campaign with 47 receptions for 365 yards and one touchdown in nine games played.

Kirk, another departure from the Jaguars

In times when the goal is to form the most competitive roster possible for the upcoming season, the team of new head coach Liam Coen has decided to part ways with Christian Kirk, the historic WR who will now continue his career with the Texans.

Both Lawrence and Kirk have developed a strong synergy on the field, so it will be a tough loss for the former Clemson player as he looks ahead to what’s next.

“Man it was a privilege to share the field with you! You’re a great person, friend, and player. Your best days are ahead! I’ll always be in your corner (except maybe twice a year). Love you brother,” the QB stated via X.

The retirement of Mitch Morse

After nearly 10 years of playing professionally in the NFL, center Mitch Morse made the decision to announce his retirement. Having spent a year together with the Jaguars, Trevor Lawrence, as one of the team’s leaders, shared a heartfelt message looking ahead.

“Congrats on a great career brother,” wrote Lawrence. “Only was with you for a short time but still felt your impact and have always respected the way you played the game and the person you are. Go enjoy retirement big dawg!!!
