It’s a time of major movement in the NFL, with players leaving and others arriving. This endless cycle of transactions caught the attention of Tyreek Hill, one of the best wide receivers in the league. The current star of the Miami Dolphins shared his thoughts on the matter through his social media.
After the conclusion of the last NFL season, Hill hinted at the possibility of leaving the Dolphins in search of a team with higher aspirations. However, after reflecting on the matter, he later backtracked on his statements, though his future in the league remains uncertain.
A series of moves in the league, specifically involving players in the same position that Cheetah occupies, led the Miami wide receiver to express his thoughts on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
“Everyone trying to get out,” the former Kansas City Chiefs player stated via @cheetah.
Throughout the last season, Hill played a total of 17 games, rushed for 959 yards, and scored a total of 6 touchdowns.
What did Tyreek Hill say?
Tyreek Hill’s last game for the Dolphins, played against the Jets, was interpreted by many as a potential farewell from the franchise’s star wide receiver. “I open the door. I’m leaving. It was great to play here, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for my career. I’m too competitive to be out there,” Hill said to he press once the game concluded.
Despite these controversial statements, the former Chiefs player ultimately retracted his words, clarifying that his comments were a result of his frustration.
“What y’all heard at the end of the season is frustration. I’ve been winning my whole life. Y’all don’t understand, I bust my ass every day. So I deserve to feel like that. I deserve to have some sort of opinion. Y’all just want me to say ‘Oh well, get ’em next year.’ I don’t wanna that,” Hill said in a broadcast via Twitch.
The recent moves in the NFL
Some of the recent moves in the NFL that caught Hill’s attention involve the arrival and departure of several wide receivers, as well as others who have requested trades in the short term.
DK Metcalf, star wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks, requested a trade during this offseason. Also in Seattle, after more than 10 years with the franchise, the experienced Tyler Lockett was released and will now have to look for new opportunities.
Lastly, Stefon Diggs, another of the NFL’s veterans, was released by the Houston Texans and will be able to seek a new destination during this offseason.
