While awaiting the resolution of Aaron Rodgers‘ situation and his potential arrival at the franchise, the Minnesota Vikings aren’t resting on their laurels ahead of the upcoming NFL season and have successfully added a former teammate of Trevor Lawrence from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tim Jones, who entered the league in 2021 as an undrafted player, has reached an agreement with the Vikings and will become teammates with J.J. McCarthy starting next season. During his time with the Jaguars, the wide receiver not only contributed on offense but also made an impact on special teams.

Although Jones participated in most of the Jaguars‘ games since his arrival in the NFL, his stats didn’t reflect his performance. He only managed to record 14 receptions and 113 receiving yards, without the opportunity to score a touchdown.

There is still no certainty about Rodgers‘ potential arrival at the team, so the Vikings, continue to focus on what lies ahead and are determined not to lose sight of building a competitive roster to become contenders in the NFC North.

Could Aaron Rodgers join the Vikings?

One of the most talked-about storylines in the NFL in recent days is undoubtedly the one involving Aaron Rodgers and three specific franchises: the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New York Giants, and finally, the Minnesota Vikings.

While the rumors of the former Packers and Jets quarterback joining the Vikings reached their peak, the truth is that there is still no certainty regarding Rodgers’ arrival to fill the vacant spot left by Sam Darnold.

Thus, the only certainty at the moment is that Kevin O’Connell is betting on J.J. McCarthy’s talent for the upcoming season, something that couldn’t be showcased due to the serious injury suffered before the start of the season.
