Everybody’s talking about Sunday Night Football and for very good reasons. The eyes of the NFL will be set at Gillette Stadium as the New England Patriots will host Tom Brady for the first time as a rival.
The legendary quarterback spent 2 decades in Foxboro, building incredible memories and one of the strongest dynasties in sports history. Now, he’ll look to dominate once again but playing on the other side of the gridiron.
Obviously, that’s been the story all week, which is why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers superstar didn’t have much of a choice but to talk about this showdown and what it’ll mean for him to be back home.
Tom Brady Talks About His Game Vs. The New England Patriots
“My 20 years in New England was incredible,” number 12 said, as quoted by ESPN. “I learned a lot. Coming out here for a year and a half, I’ve learned a lot. I have nothing but incredible thoughts, memories, emotions towards the football experiences I’ve had. That’s obviously been the longest. I still have a lot of great friends there, but they know I want to kick their butts this week.”
Brady Says He’s Feeling Great At Tampa
There will be mixed emotions and nostalgia, that’s for sure. Even so, Brady reiterated that he’s ecstatic at Tampa Bay. He’s happy with the city, the team, the coching staff, and the situation overall:
“I’m super excited about what we’ve got here. I’ve got a great group of coaches here, an amazing group of guys that still motivate me and inspire me to be the best I can be for this team and this organization. I’ve just had a great last 18 months. It’s been very fulfilling in a lot of different ways. I love my football experience here as well,” he concluded.
It’s Not The Time To Reminiscence
It’ll be inevitable not to look back and reminiscence about Brady’s incredible tenure in New England. Nonetheless, he insists that he’ll only be focused on the game and getting a win for his new team:
“I’m not going to necessarily reminisce. I don’t think this is the moment for that. I’ll have plenty of opportunities to reminisce about my football career — none of it, none of which I really care to do right now because I’m so much in the moment. I’m not going to be thinking about 20 years of history. I’m going to be thinking about one night of football, a Sunday night game coming off a really tough loss,” Brady said.
Most people will remember Brady as a member of the Patriots and not the Buccaneers once it’s all said and done. But even if this is just another regular-season game, it could go down as one of the most memorable moments in the history of this sport.
