Jackson Blake has secured his future with the Carolina Hurricanes by signing an eight-year, $45 million contract extension. The deal, carrying an average annual value of $5.625 million, will begin in the 2026-27 season, locking in the promising young forward for the long term.

At just 21 years old, Blake showed impressive potential during his rookie campaign last season, recording 34 points (17 goals, 17 assists) over 80 regular-season games. He also contributed six points (three goals, three assists) in 15 postseason games, proving to be a valuable asset in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Entering the final year of his entry-level contract, Blake was on track to become a restricted free agent after the upcoming season. However, this new extension provides stability for both player and team moving forward.

Tulsky’s confidence in Blake’s future impact

Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky expressed strong confidence in Blake’s growth and potential. “Jackson had an outstanding rookie season, and we think he is just scratching the surface of the player he can be,” Tulsky said, according to NHL.com. “His tenaciousness on the puck and competitiveness match our team’s culture, and we’re excited about his future with our club.”

Drafted to make an impact

Selected in the fourth round, 109th overall, in the 2021 NHL Draft, Blake continues to develop into a key piece of the Hurricanes’ roster. With this long-term deal in place, Carolina is poised to benefit from his rising star potential in the coming seasons.
