The Gold Cup 2021 Group Stage is about to kick off and so does Costa Rica‘s quest for a highly desired title. Los Ticos will be seeking to improve their 2019 finish when they were knocked out by Mexico in the quarterfinals.

Luis Fernando Suarez has taken the reins of the team just a few weeks ago and he already has a big challenge ahead of him. Hoping to lead Costa Rica to a deep run in the tournament to be held in the United States, he called up a mix of young and experienced players.

Los Ticos have lifted the Concacaf Cup three times in history but have never got their hands on the Gold Cup so far, which is why they’ll try to fight for their first success this year. Check out who will be chasing that task in the upcoming competition.

A balanced Costa Rica squad for 2021 Gold Cup

Costa Rica will show up at the Concacaf’s greatest tournament with some historic names alongside new talents that begin to emerge. Veteran leader Bryan Ruiz will be in Los Ticos’ squad once again, just like the experienced midfielder Celso Borges, and the forward Joel Campbell.

Allan Cruz, on the other hand, is one of Los Ticos’ brightest prospects and will probably continue learning a lot from the older players on the roster. With such a well-balanced squad, Costa Rica could become a tough opponent in the Gold Cup 2021. These are all the player who were called up to the national team:
